Thursday 6/11

So I just set up the blog and hopefully I will be able to keep this up while I am in Rome. I am EXTREMELY excited about leaving for Rome in less than two days! AHH!!!!

In case someone is reading this and doesn't know whats going on, let me break it down for you:

Myself, Jenni, the Madrigals, and friends are going to the 25th Annual International Church Music Festival in Rome, Italy. Since it is the 25th year anniversary, it is in Rome and spanning over a weeks time. We will team up with 20 or so other choirs from around the world to perform at St. Paul's Outside the Walls. We are going to be performing Puccini's "Gloria" (it's a Mass), Haydn's "Te Deum", Handel's "Hallelujiah Chorus", and "I Was Glad" by.....I forget his name. Within this week, we will rehearse three times with the mass choir, perfoming twice by oursleves at the Pantheon and Sancta Maria Magiore, and doing a lot of sight seeing.

I started packing some today and I found that I need to do laundry tomorrow. A little stressed out because I am afraid that I will forget something. As long as I have music and myself I think I'll be good. I can always sing in the clothes that I wear on the plane, who needs a tux? hahaha. Tomorrow we have rehearsal at 9 until 11. We are going to go over all the rep for the mini concerts (Lux Aurumque, Ave Maria, Jing-ga-lye-a [also known as ICMF], Wait on the Lord, etc.), and than the alumni folks come at 10 and we are going to spot check some music, and than Mr. Lyman (I think) is coming and praying for us and sending us off. Tomorrow is probably going to be the LONGEST day EVER! It's always hard the day before you leave for someplace exciting. The day just drags on. But I'll try and keep myslef busy. I have to run to the bank and deposit some money, do laundry, and pack. I need to try and plan something tomorrow night to make the time go by faster! :-) Well it's late and I need to get to sleep. The sooner I get to sleep, the sooner tomorrow comes, and that faster we'll get to Rome (if only it worked like that!).

Again hopefully I'll be able to get internet in the hotel so I can keep you guys updated!
