So today was prettty sweet. It took till today to really realize that we are in stinkin Europe. It is kind of weird to think that you are on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean than your family is on. And another weird thing to think is that it is 4:14 at home. And it is 10:14 here. Although I am exhausted, my family's day is pretty much half way done.

So the Itlaian language is sooooo amazing. Walking down the streets and trying to communicate with the citizens is really cool and fun. It is exciting to see how accurate and how well you can blend in. Didn't do so well when I was trying to buy a water today. I wanted a large water bottle natural. And he pulls out water with gas (carbonated water, it's nasty). And it took a while for him to figgure out what I was talking about. Another thing I love about Italy is that they take their time. Nothing is really that rushed. The owner of the restraunt that we ate at for lunch could not understand why we were rushed to eat and leave. He looked baffled. It is just a common practice that you sit down, eat and take your time. Most shops are closed from about noon till 2 for lunch.

At dinner tonight we had a typical Eurpean three course meal. We got this amazing pasta with bacon and chicken, and some tomatie sauce. The second course was pork and vegtables with these sliced baked potatoes and vegtables. And the last course was dessert. It was this weird block of this vanilla yoghurt looking stuff, but it was sweet, and it had blueberries on top. It was really really good.
Tomorrow we are going to see the Colleseum, I think I mentioned that before, and some of ancient Rome. I am really going to need to use sun screen tomorrow. The sun feels a lot closer than back in Maryland for some reason. You can really feel it beating down on you. But the nice thing is, is that the heat is just dry heat, none of this humidity stuff.
I still have that plane feeling. You know how you get off a roller coaster, and that night when you are laying in bed, you feel like you are on a roller coaster. Well I have been getting really bad dizzy attacks and I feel like I am on a plane. hahahahaha. Hopefully those will wear off tonight.
OHHHHH!!!!! Italian Gellatis are AMAZING!!!!
Much Love from Rome!!!!!
(p.s. sorry if the spelling is atrotious. The spell check doesn't work on jenni's internet browser. So I have nothing checking my spelling!)

ReplyDeleteYou write exactly how you talk, so I can hear you saying all this while I'm reading it. It's pretty funny. Hope you guys are having a great time! It's 7:50AM right now and I've been at work for about 20 minutes. You, on the other hand, have probably been exploring the city for hours, seeing as how it's 1:50 there already.

Dad
Everything is going great! Jenni is doing fine as well. She is doing better with the jet lag than I am. It's kind of weird. I get tired in the mid day and than I get more energy at like two. It's weird but it works. But everythings great!
